What is Suji?

Suji provides isolated Linux VMs with shared vCPUs in EU data centers. Each VM has its own guest operating system, filesystem, and root access. Physical CPU resources are shared with other VMs; these plans do not provide dedicated physical cores. Install compatible software yourself or use the marketplace. The dashboard provides VM lifecycle controls, a terminal, files, logs, metrics, firewall settings, and snapshots. You remain responsible for your guest OS, application configuration, and data.

Do I have to use the marketplace?

No. You can install compatible Linux software over SSH or the web terminal. Marketplace templates add installation and lifecycle controls. Supported exposed web apps receive a Suji HTTPS URL; other protocols, such as game traffic, use the VM’s public IP and configured ports.

How am I billed?

From prepaid organization credit, at your VM’s hourly rate. Compute is calculated by the minute with a one-hour minimum per VM. Monthly figures are estimates based on 730 hours. Storage, traffic overage, and optional managed backups have separate charges; see Billing & credits. Stopping a VM does not reduce its hourly charge. Delete the VM to stop compute charges. Retained snapshots and volumes remain billable until deleted.

What apps are in the marketplace?

Browse the dashboard marketplace for currently available apps and versions. The Marketplace overview links to the app guides. Each app has its own resource requirements, licence, and configuration options.

How is my data isolated?

Apps installed on one VM share that VM’s resources. Other customers’ VMs have separate guest operating systems and filesystems. Suji’s management connection uses authenticated HTTPS with a certificate pinned to the VM. Isolation does not prevent access to services you expose on a public IP or URL. Configure application authentication and firewall rules for your use case. See the Security FAQ.

Where are VMs hosted?

Suji’s configured regions are in Germany and Finland. Choose from the locations currently offered in the VM creation form. VM disks and snapshots for these EU regions are stored in the EU. Platform services and external services you connect may process data elsewhere. See the privacy policy.

Can I use my own domain?

Supported exposed web apps can use a domain you own. Setup requires DNS ownership verification and the records appropriate to the selected mode. Follow Custom domains for prerequisites, Cloudflare and Direct modes, and HTTPS setup.

Can I install software that isn’t in the marketplace?

Yes, if it is compatible with the VM’s operating system and resources. Software installed manually does not automatically receive marketplace lifecycle controls or a Suji HTTPS URL. You manage its deployment, networking, and updates.

What happens when my credit runs out?

Auto-recharge can add credit when enabled and the payment succeeds. Failed recharge can suspend VMs; suspended VMs still incur compute charges. At zero spendable credit, the platform can terminate VMs and start storage retention deadlines. The termination flow attempts to create a recovery snapshot, but this can fail. Keep independent backups of important data. See When your credit runs low for the recovery conditions and deadlines.

Can I export my data?

  • Download files through the Files tab where supported, or use SSH and file-transfer tools with the required permissions.
  • Use each app’s export or database-dump tools for application data.
  • Request an account-data export from Settings → Data.
Snapshots provide restoration within Suji. They are not a downloadable, portable VM-image export. Attached volumes need their own backup and export process.

How do I get help?

  • For VMs, billing, dashboard access, or app installations, open a support ticket in the dashboard.
  • For app-specific usage, consult the relevant app guide and upstream documentation.
  • For a one-off environment setup or quote, contact contact@suji.cloud.
